Challenge
New Horizons Healthcare is a nonprofit community health center in Roanoke and a Federally Qualified Health Center, serving patients whether they are insured, uninsured, or somewhere in between. For its 25th anniversary, the center wanted a website that made the basics easy to find: which services it offers, who its providers are, where to go, and how the sliding fee scale works.
As a Federally Qualified Health Center, it also has to be careful about what it says. Every claim on the site has to match what the center actually offers and is recognized for.
Approach
Four rounds of design mockups, reviewed with the center’s staff, settled the look and the structure before any WordPress work began. The homepage opens with a simple question, which door is yours, and sends new patients, current patients, people referring someone, and supporters each down their own path.
The site was built so staff can run it. Pages are assembled from 49 ready-made blocks, and services, providers, locations, and events are each managed in one place and shown wherever they are needed.
Delivery
Nine service pages share one template, each with its own details. A provider directory groups clinical staff, leadership, and the board by role and discipline. The site also carries a locations map, quality measures, the sliding fee scale, required federal notices, giving tiers, and a donation flow, and job openings come straight from the center’s existing recruiting system rather than a second list to maintain.
Unfinished sections were held back behind redirects instead of shipping half-built pages, and the copy was checked with the center’s compliance lead and corrected so the site claims only what New Horizons offers.
Outcome
The new site launched on October 19, 2026, with every page of the old site redirected to its new home, so existing links, bookmarks, and search results kept working. The next day, the center’s outreach manager reported that feedback had been very positive.
The center’s team now updates services, providers, events, and pages themselves, and patients reach the right door from the first screen.
Excellent work, thanks Mr. William. Looks great.
